Frequently asked questions

Does this account for daylight saving time?

Yes. We use the browser's Intl.DateTimeFormat API, which consults the IANA time-zone database. Spring-forward (the hour that doesn't exist) and fall-back (the hour that happens twice) are both handled correctly, tested against Amsterdam 2026-03-29 and 2026-10-25.

What does '+1d' / '-1d' next to the time mean?

The selected time falls on a different date in that zone than in your source zone. Example: 11pm Amsterdam is 9am +1d in Tokyo (next morning there).

Does anything go to a server?

No. All conversions happen in your browser via Intl. Your list of time zones is stored in localStorage, only on your device, never sent to us.

My time zone isn't in the list.

We show a curated list of popular zones. You only need to add the zones you use regularly, for rare zones: temporarily change your system settings and the browser auto-detect will pick it up.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
