Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is processed in your browser via pdf-lib. No server, no log. Close the tab and the file is gone, only the processed result stays in your Downloads.

Does this work on a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. A password-protected PDF must first be opened (without the password) before page numbers can be added. The tool works on regular, unencrypted PDFs.

Are existing page numbers replaced?

No, new page numbers are added at the chosen position. If the PDF already has page numbers, they stay and the new ones appear alongside or on top. Removing existing numbers requires a PDF redaction tool.

What font is used for the page numbers?

Helvetica, a standard sans-serif supported by all PDF readers without font-embedding issues. Keeps the file small and compatible.
