Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping and scaling happen entirely in your browser. No photo goes to a server; close the tab and it's all gone.
Does this meet the official Dutch passport photo requirements?
The tool sets your photo to the right size (35 x 45 mm) with guide lines for head height (chin to crown, 26 to 30 mm) and width. Pose, expression, lighting and background are up to you when taking the photo; use the short checklist for those.
Which background should I use?
A plain, single-colour light grey, light blue or white background. Busy background? Use Remove background first and place a light colour behind you.
How do I print the photo at home?
Choose the print sheet: several photos on a 10 x 15 cm sheet with cut lines. Print on smooth photo paper at actual size (not 'fit to page') and cut along the lines.
My phone shoots HEIC. Does that work?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF are converted automatically before you crop, also entirely in your browser.
